The writers and editors of Young \u00c7a\u011flayan<\/em>, a monthly e-magazine published in Turkish, met with their readers in Amsterdam. On 4 March, the members of the editorial board presented the activities and projects of the magazine, which has been published online since January 2021.<\/p>\n

Before the presentation, \u0130rfan Y\u0131lmaz, the editor-in-chief of \u00c7a\u011flayan<\/em>, talked about the editorial principles of the magazine and his memories of S\u0131z\u0131nt\u0131<\/em> magazine, which was published for 37 years before \u00c7a\u011flayan<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Z\u00fcleyha Ko\u00e7, a member of the Young \u00c7a\u011flayan<\/em> team, and S. Akbulak, the coordinator of the magazine, made a presentation about the activities. Other members of the magazine also gave detailed information about the projects they participated in.<\/p>\n

The team members announced that these meetings will continue in different cities in the coming months.<\/p>\n

In Amsterdam Saraburgerhart Activity Centre, the Young<\/em> \u00c7a\u011flayan<\/em> writers and editors came together with their readers in Europe for the first time. At the end of the meeting, the magazine team shared their thoughts with us:<\/p>\n

Z\u00fcleyha Ko\u00e7: \u201cI try to write psychological stories and articles in Young \u00c7a\u011flayan<\/em> magazine. Besides, I help in the editorial work.\u201d<\/p>\n

S. Akbulak: \u201cIn our editorial board, we discuss the articles every 15 days. We evaluate the essays and poems according to our publishing policy and literary criteria. We give feedback to the writers, and publish the articles after making the necessary editing. We also organize workshops for young writers. The seventh workshop is going on right now.\u201d<\/p>\n

Derya Hekim: \u201cI try to support the Young \u00c7a\u011flayan<\/em> projects. I participate in the meetings of the editorial board and contribute to the magazine with my essays and stories. We organize various workshops and seminars. I develop contents for our social media accounts.\u201d<\/p>\n

S\u00fcmeyye Sakarya: \u201cI contribute to our magazine by writing essays and participating in proofreading activities. In addition, I try to coordinate the writing workshop. Young people have an extraordinary imagination capacity. They can compose unique texts with inspirations. We witnessed this in our writing workshops.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ay\u015feg\u00fcl Y\u0131ld\u0131r\u0131m: \u201cI have been involved in the editorial activities since the day Young \u00c7a\u011flayan<\/em> was founded. I prepare the content published on social media, and proofread the articles. I have participated in the writing workshop before. I took part in the project \u201cPoems from Anatolia.\u201d Young people can contribute to our activities especially in the field of writing and social media.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nur Arslan: \u201cI write articles for young people in Young \u00c7a\u011flayan<\/em>. I mostly write stories and memoirs. I like to express my observations in the form of stories.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mehmet Y\u0131ld\u0131z: \u201cOur magazine is not just a magazine: The articles take you to a different dimension. Some people like literature, some like history, some like astronomy. There are messages for everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hafsa Y\u0131ld\u0131z: \u201cI am currently following the seventh writing workshop. I had the opportunity to improve myself. Apart from that, I took part in some projects.\u201d<\/p>\n
